- すみながし【墨流し】(1)「墨流し染め」の略。(2)水面に字や絵をかく方法。 小豆粉・黄柏(オウハク)・ミョウバンを麻布に包んで水で濡らし， 紙に字・絵をかいたのち， その紙を水に浮かべて軽く突くと紙は沈み， 字や絵だけが水面に残る。(3)タテハチョウ科のチョウ。 開張約65ミリメートル。 はねは薄墨色で複雑な白斑があり， 緑青色の光沢がある。 口吻は赤色。 本州以南， 台湾まで分布。
